This website has been created as part of the Digital History 9808A class at The University of Western Ontario. This class is a required part of the graduate program in Public History. The purpose of this website is to chronicle the history of the Grumman Corporation Facility formerly located in Bethpage, NY. Grumman was in Bethpage from the 1930s until it merged with Northrop in 1994. Following the merger, a massive portion of the over 400 acre complex was put up for sale. The property was transformed from an airport and defense plant to a mixed use development including movie studios, housing, businesses, and a continued presence of Northrop Grumman. Using historic photography and present day satellite photos the evolution and redevelopment of this important location is revealed.
